Sukkot in Marrakech

Celebrating Sukkot in Marrakech: JKECH checks the garden, builds the sukkah, organises the meals and services. You arrive with the lulav.

The sukkah

No improvised sukkah: we choose a house with a suitable garden, build the sukkah before Yom Tov and set it for the meals. All that remains is to invite the ushpizin.

Festival meals

Yom Tov and Shabbat Chol Hamoed meals on kosher full board, served under the sukkah: Moroccan festive cuisine, fish, salads, slow-cooked dishes, pastries. The kitchen is supervised by the Beth Din of Casablanca; the level of kashrut is adapted to your practice.

Services, Hoshana Rabbah and Simchat Torah

On privatised estates, services can be held on site with a Sefer Torah. Otherwise Beth El in Guéliz welcomes the community for Simchat Torah, a warm moment in Marrakech. We organise the journeys outside Yom Tov.

Chol Hamoed Sukkot: what to do?

October is one of the best times in Marrakech: 25-30 °C, mild evenings. Excursions to Ourika and Agafay, hot-air balloon, golf, medina, Essaouira. Lunch can be packed or taken under the sukkah on your return.
